More questions for Bauman's patients

Does Dr. Bauman require all of his patients to loose weight prior to surgery?  If so how much typically is expected?  Has anyone ever had revision surgery with Dr. Bauman?  Thanks for your help.

Dr. B is not my Dr. but Dr. P is they are in the same office. I was not required to lose any weight. But,. they wil cancel if you gain any from the time you meet with him.  Good Luck, I love their office...........

I had lapband.  I did not have to loose weight, he just said to cut down enough to shrink my liver.  Not everyone is the same though, It would depend on your bmi and his personal preference. Nancy

He doesn't require all patients to lose prior to surgery, but does for some.  It depends on your personal situation and lab work.  He DOES, however, make it clear to you that he wants NO weight gain in that preop period, or he will cancel your surgery without thinking twice about it.  I don't think Dr. Pirrello is quite as strict about it with his patients and haven't known him to cancel a patient's surgery yet, but Dr. Bauman will.
