The Journey has begun!
Hi Tammy,
Welcome to the NC Boards! This is definitely a wonderful group of people. We have a lot of fun together while we're all on the journey, and you'll fit right in I'm sure!
Good luck to you, and feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Chances are someone here has gone through the same thing! :)
Hey Tammy!! Welcome to the NC board!!!
I read your blog and I just wanted to let you know that I too used Dr. Fuzz as my surgeon!!! He and his team are one of the best around in this field and you are in great hands with him!!! I had my surgery (RNY) in July '07 and so far have lost 102 lbs! I have had no complications whatsoever and would highly reccommend Fuzz to anyone who is looking for a surgeon in the Winston-Salem area. If you have any questions regarding his program, I would love to help you out if I can.
I moved to VA in November of last year but these kind ladies on here are gracious enough to still let me hang around. They are a wonderful group of ladies who offer great advice and will answer just about any question you have. So jump on in and start asking and before you know it, you will feel right at home. Good luck to you on a quick approval and successful surgery! I look forward to following your journey!!
Hugs,
Donna

Hi Tammy!
My name is Susan. I live in Mount Airy,NC. I just visited this site today after a while away from my computer and have not had the opportunity to find out about a new meeting being started at WFUBMC. Could you give me any specifics? I have been wanting to see about getting a group started in this area for a while but just have not really had a chance.
If you get this before the meeting which I see may be this evening or even if you do get it too late, please write me back and let me know who, where, what and the when about the new obesity help meeting. I would greatly appreciate it!
I have had surgery, then had to have a revision and then more and eventually had to have my surgery taken down but then later gained upwards near 600 lbs. I later lost weight the old fashioned way and got down to less than 250 lbs. I eventually lost so much weight that with the scar tissue left over from the previous surgeries, and my stomach shrinking, my stomach essentially shrunk shut. I then had to have a partial gastrectomy and RNY to be able to eat again. It has been a long road but I am doing much better now. I am now 9 years out and have maintained pretty well. I just really need some help with eating now because I still cannot eat enough to keep a person alive, and I had to have the RNY to live and did not get the prep everyone gets these days. I have learned by trial and error!
The hardest part has been developing a new self esteem for myself, which will always be a work in progress.
Hope to hear from you soon?!
Susan C.
