New project

For the members who know me one to one know my heart has gone to the animals. So I am looking into adopting a african grey parrot. I sent my application in on Friday and look forward to hearing something soon. I may even have to take a few classes before I become a foster parrot mom. As for my babies we had quite an experince yesterday while walking. We were going down a road we never have walked and a couple with a small dog came up the road. I stood still and held on for dear life. Bulldogs are very strong. I let go of the leashes because Arthur was so excited about this new dog with his people. Fortunatly the people helped me get the leashes and we went on our way it was scarry that Arthur almost made me fall something I worry about. So this morning we will not go the way we went yesterday and hopfully we wont have any trouble.                                                                      Annie

That is a frightening experience you had with the babies, that's for sure.  Thank God nothing catastrophic happened to anyone. Tell me more about your parrot adoption project.  When I was a vet tech, I learned how much I enjoy birds.  Didn't have much experience with them before that.  I have always wanted a parrot.  I would like to know more about what/how you are doing with this. Hope you are well and happy. I miss you!

Look at that pic Suzanne whoo hoo!!!! I saw a bird rescue in New Hanover County but did not have time to do a complete check. In fact when I have time I was thinking about sending you and or Nancy to go check it out. Let me get back with you on it. Going to meet some  friends at Unitarian church this morning. Got my walk in no problems. Arthur noticed a man walking and we turned right around and went the other way. Arthur is a good boy but he dosent relize his power. Are you comming Saturday? Barb, I was able to give my demo to Robin for the 19th. I need the money too but not being with my OH family is so important to me too. I told my friends today I need the OH group to help me on my journey and I did not fight for wls for nothing.                                              Annie

Hi I am an animal lover too. I have 4 dogs ,1 love bird and 2 fish now .Our Lab Luna passed away Dec 30/07  she just turned 15 and is very much missed. I raise a congo grey from the time he was one week old his name was Tao .He was my baby after 6 yrs he became ill and passed . It almost killed me to lose him. They are really a one person bird . I took a shower Tao took a shower. He had dinner with me . He was a wonderful fellow and learned to say anything . Here I sit with tears in my eyes. I loved him so much.

Wow Annie...  You are so wonderful for caring for animals like you do.  I love animals also and really fall hard for them.  I can't wait to hear if you get the parrot and look forward to hearing all about this new adventure.  So cool.
