((((Jennifer)))),

I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time find a suit. I did some searches and this is what I found:

1 lovely blue suit

http://www.jessicalondon.com/Search/SearchResults.aspx?Searc hHeader=swimsuit+34W

4 different one piece suits and one nice 2 piece swimdress/brief

http://www.womanwithin.com/Search/SearchResults.aspx?SearchH eader=34W+swim

3 two piece skirt or short tankini suits

http://www.swimsuitsforall.com/prodshelf.asp?brand_id=&dept_ id=100290&filter_skusize=34W&filterdept_id=100132&shopall=

I hope that one of these will have something that will work for you for the next few months.

Barb

P.S. We missed you tonight and I hope to see you next week. :-)

Thank you Barbara  I really appreciate your efforts - ALL OF YOU! While those are my size, they are not long torso.   I have tried 2 pieces and the problem with large women (at least at my size) is that when you are in the pool, the top scoops water and rides or rolls up and won't stay down and gets in the way when trying to exercise.  Also because of my long waist because I'm tall, they don't come together and it looks REALLY bad with a fat roll hanging out the middle.  I have 2 swimsuits right now 1 I bought from WomanWithin. The other from Junonia.  Neither fit well, but I've worn them out so much anyway trying that they have holes and see through spots. But they never ever fit.  I always had to try and hide that they were riding up my .. uh.. private part - not to mention it always hurt and left me raw after exercising. But I did it anyway.  It just seems I'm doomed to wait to exercise in the water till I'm small enough to find a Long Torso bathing suit in a size they actually make.  Irony - Very little sports suits  for women large enough to really need it, and vass amounts for women less likely to need or use.  Go figure.  The really sad part? At my weight right now, exercising is so physically painful. My knees are tearing up, my back is killing me everyday. But I keep pushing.  If I could swim, it wouldn releive all that. LOL   I'm just fed up and done with it.   I'm going to start calling seamstresses that I can find in the phone book and see if that is something that can be sewn.

Jennifer -

My heart goes out to you. I can only imagine your frustration. I have an idea that might be more "cost" effective than having a seamstress construct a new suit for you. I'm wondering if you "bought" a suit like the two-piece dress that was in the second link I sent you or the third link, and took it to a seamstress to have them add some velcro or other closure mechanism to keep them attached and from floating away, if that might work. I really do understand how they can float away and get in the way and being embarassing. I'm not positive, but I'd bet that would be doable and much more cost effective than trying to have a suit basically designed and executed.

Just a thought.

http://www.junonia.com/detail.htm?sid=231440&tl=&ldid=2&sdid =6&caid=601# After 3 hours today on the internet "googling" every combination of "Long Torso Plus Size Swimsuit" I could think of... this was the only one I found that MIGHT fit.   I don't think I'm going to be able to get it up over my stomach, but my husband is now getting angry with me for not trying so I'm going to order it and see. I just can't wait till I'm beautiful as you guys and can fit in almost anything. Ya'll give me hope!! Thank you all so much for wanting to help and just listening to me B****.  I think a lot of the frustration is that part of me wants to do things I haven't been able to do. My body's energy is ready t get out there and do it.. and the size of me is still holding me back and it's frustrating me.

I looked at that suit. I bet its hard to get on. I buy a one piece and wear a mans swim trunks in the same color . I don't like how my fat hangs . So I cover it up with the trunks they are loose and covers my roll . I think it looks better then skirts on swimsuits and covers more.

I feel your pain girl!  I'm 5'10" and when I wore a size 36 I needed to find one also... yikes of all yikes!!!  Your post said it all!!!!  I ended up wearing shorts and a shirt until I lost some weight.  I looked at the reply post with Catherine's and they look nice.  I still have a little bit of a problem with suits but I found that if I buy tankini's I have better luck and my belly doesn't show (thank God!).   Anyway, just wanted to let you know I felt your pain!!!!  Have a great weekend!

I never thought about the men's swim trunks!!  OMG. I could get a regular one piece with no skirt... hope it doesn't cut me .. uhm down there, and get some shorts from King Size Catalog! When I swim, I actually do swim. I walk several laps, jog several laps (because I actually can in the water), I walk again with dumbells in the water, and then I freestyle and breaststroke. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!!! ((((((((HUGS))))))))

cagair, Dont you know we can be anything we want to be in the water. GiGi on OH is a wonderful seamstress and I bet she could whip something up for you. If that dosent work do the shorts and T shirts who cares what you look like. At 680 water is where I started and the walk from my car to the locker room to the pool about wiped me out but I never gave up and soon graduated to the treadmill. I wasent able to go fast and still cant go fast but the point is you are willing to try. Junonia has swimming panties which I wear now over my suit just to hold everything in the right place. We are always here for you.                                                      Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?
