I have Medicaid and am wondering what info they need regarding the 6 month diet. Do they need monthy weigh-ins or what? I started my diet November but didn't have my weight checked at the doctor in December, but I did see my PCP. Thanks!!

Hi Chastity -

I have Medicare and I believe that they follow the same rules. If you saw your PCP and were weighed, that may count. They want to see 6 CONSECUTIVE months of weightloss supervised weightloss attempts. I just made sure that I saw my PCP every month for at least 6 months. My PCP was usually checking on other issues as well, but we always made sure to document my progress re: weightloss.

I hope that helps. I know that 6 months seems like an eternity, but it will go by faster than you might think.

Great to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you better as you make your way on the journey of a lifetime.

All the best,

Barb

You do need to be weighed each month. They want to see that you tried and they need to make sure you aren't gaining a lot. :) So make sure they weigh you and in the notes make sure they list weight loss and what they want you doing as far as eating and exercise.
