deep water arobics

Yesterday I went to my first deep water arobics class. It was great fun and I did not get worn out I still had energy when I left came home and walked all 4 babies. There was a time going to water arobics would have been all I could do for the day but not anymore. I also was freaking out a little about wearing my 1x bathing suit and having some of the personal areas which are hanging to show so I put on some swimming panties over my suit to hold everything in its place. The locker room was small but I went ahead took my shower in the handicapped stall no curtain or door but made sure nobody would see the hanging mons pubis. Got dressed without any trouble and there were a bunch of little kids come through while I was dressing but nobody looked at me strangely. I even met a cute little girl by the name of Sarah. She was very talkitive to me and I really liked talking to her. There has been a time in my life I would avoid children. Mainly because children speak the truth and when they would see me at my worst would say things about the fat lady. Now I can go to the stores and dont get a second look could this mean I am looking normal? I am on my way to meet with my friend *****ally needs wls. I had lunch with her the other day she thanked me for not pressuring her into surgery. I cant do it for her all I can do is share my experince. My friend is about 500-600lbs and I know she is watching me and the way I walk and get up from the table and what I eat and drink.                                                 Annie

Girl... you are FABULOUS!!! And so freakin funny!!!! You know I havent worn a 1x bathing suit since I was like 11... haha!!! And you are more bold than I... taking a shower with no door AHHHH!! Juliana I would   love it if you came to water arobics with me. It is  at 9am on Tuesday and Thursday at the community center in CH the first time is free additinal classes are 6 dollars. Let me know and also when I go to a class is subject to change because of Lee's schedule but I will be going as often as I can.                                             Annie                                  

It is fabulous that things are going so well for you.  Just be there to support your friend.  It took me several drs. and years before I decided to have wls.  My only regret is that I didn't do it when my dr tried years ago.  But, she will decide when the time is right.  It is good she has you as a friend.  You can support her, b/c you know what she is going through, but also she can see your great changes and that may ultimately be what helps her decide.  You are such a good person.

There is no where I could come to but OH and share how things were and are. My doctor also told me about wls and it scarred me to death. I am 48 years old and will be 49 in May. I have lived a major part of my life as SMO but I am determined to live the rest of my life at a lower weight I want to know what does it feel like to be smaller.                                                           Annie

Annie -

You have always been normal! You just weren't of a normal size ... and yes, you are now a "normal" size. I'm glad that you are comfortable interacting with children. You have a gentleness that children are immediately drawn to.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your swim class. I was thinking of you.

Re: Your friend. We've talked of this before. You are right when you say that all you can do is be there for her. Not judge her and not try to persuade her. As you know so well, we can only come this on our own because we have to live it. That's why I didn't try to pressure my husband into doing this. I'm glad he's going to, but I wouldn't pressure anyone into it for the world. Hopefully, she'll be inspired by you as the rest of us are.

I had a good visit with Ruth today we met at Starbucks but we met at a Starbucks store and she asked if the chairs had arms. I said I would go check and yes there were chairs with arms and it was a little busy. I came out and told her so we decided to go to Starbucks at HT The Starbucks at HT seemed to work out much better for her. She shared with me a story about how she started her own bussiness on ebay with just 116 dollars I was very impressed. I told her it sounded like a Cinderella story. She is doing so well on ebay that ebay called her and would like to fly her to CA all expenses paid. I thought to myself WOW a chance to go to CA never been there. Then Ruth said "you know Annie I cant go because I cant fit on the plane" I looked at her and said I know Ruth. Ruth wants to meet again next week. I will continue to meet with her because I feel like this is the most sociable time she has.                                          Annie

I'm glad that you were able to meet with Ruth. I'd love to meet with the two of you sometime.

You know Annie, Ruth can go to CA if she wants. There would be an extra seat and other accomodations necessary, but it can be done. It might be very empowering for her.
