Mini update on Juliana
Juliana is sleeping. She's had her second transfusion. She's having a mild reaction to the transfusion, which isn't all that unusual, so they've given her some Benedryl and she's off to sleepy time. The goodnews is that her hemocrit had already started to climb before the transfusion and they think that this means the wound that has been leaking blood is healing. Juliana's mom has a friend that is a hemotologist and she's been talking with him to find out "the real scoop" re "leaks", the incidence of them, the seriousness, the "reaction" she seems to be having to the second unit of blood, etc... It's nice to hear that things are following a "normal" course from someone that you trust and who can provide you with an unbiased perspective.
Both Juliana and Tammy are going to try to get some rest tonight. Hoping tomorrow brings a release from the hospital so that they can crawl into bed together and get some much needed rest.
Again, Tammy asked that I let you know how very much she, Juliana and her family appreciate the warmth, care, concern and prayers that have been extended to them.
That's it for tonight folks!
