Hi my lovely ladies... especially those that I met yesterday!!! I had an absolutely wonderful experience yesterday- you all gave me so much encouragement and hope of success. I am absolutely thrilled (and of course scared) about my surgery. Tomorrow I start my bowel prep and my oh so fabulous clear liquid diet!!! I just cannot wait for my life to change for the better!!! Yesterday I went out and bought some Isopure and some protein bullets- in case that is all I can stomach and today I bought a really nice scale- which I plan on using only once a week. Tomorrow I am going to look hot and sexy and take great before pictures and measure all of my various bulbous body parts!! I started a journal and a scrapbook today... I just want so much to succeed and help myself with any outlets that will take the place of eating. Any advice??? Ladies from yesterday... I feel so blessed and fortunate to have met you and I hope to continue our relationship and further grow and encourage each other towards our better lives. Rebirthday countdown... 1 and 1/2 days and counting!!!! Wish me luck!!! -Juliana W. PS. Wendy... my mom has not stopped talking about your lettuce wraps... where can I find the recipe? Thanks!!!!

Juliana -

I have to tell you that we were absolutely delighted to have met you. We are all looking forward to being there for you and with you during this journey of a lifetime. I think that you are doing all of the "right things" to set yourself up for success.

Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers Tuesday.

Do you have an "Angel" yet?

If not and you want want one, please feel free to private message me and I'll send you my contact info. BTW, an angel will stay in contact with you/your family and post your progress until you are posting yourself.

Please post tomorrow and let us know what time your surgery is scheduled.

Wishing you all the best,

Barb

Loved your Mom, you are so lucky to have someone who is so supportive!  I look forward to hearing your "story"!   Best of luck, and movin' over!............. Nancy

Hey Hey Bubbly! My husband and I will keep you in our prayers. I'm so excited for you!  The only thing that tuggs at the back of my mind is how fast your doctor plans on sending you home. Usually RNY is 3-4 day hospital stay. But I think someone told you at the party, don't let them send you home till you think you are ready!! Don't get discouraged if you don't start losing weight right away. Since you are going to have the IV with the TPN bags, it won't make you gain, but if you loose at all, it's slow. I had 1900 ML bags that contained about 1800 calories in them. Add that to the 500 - 600 calories I was taking in right after surgery and that's roughly 2400 a day.  I let my IV run over night so I could be active during the day. But a week after I got off the TPN? WHOA! It just started melting away like snow on a 85 degree day. Once you start on puree I have a nice snack for you that is very tasty and refreshing. My nutritionist gave me this: Fortified Fudgesicle: 1/2 C fat free evaporated milk 1 1/2 C low-fat cottage cheese 1 package ( 4 serving size) fat free, sugar free chocolate instant pudding mix In blender or food processor add milk and cottage cheese and cream till lumps from cottage cheese are smooth.  Add the pudding mix and blend on high until thick and creamy.  You may have to stop the blender and scrape and spoon the sides.  Spoon mixture into 3 oz popsicle mold or a 3 oz paper cup. Stick in a wooden stick and place in freezer for at least 3 hours.  ** I sometimes fold in fat free cool whip (just a little like 1/2 cup) to make it creamier.  Makes 6 servings. Per serving: Calories 80, Protein 9g, Carbs 9g, Fiber 1g, Fat 1g, Sodium 465mg.

Hi Julianna, I'm happy to see you here!  I'll have you AND your mama in my prayers tomorrow as you begin your new life.  Please do stay in touch here... as you've already seen, there's more support with this crowd that you'd ever imagined.

I'll post that recipe in the next day or so too... or maybe later today... gotta run to Wake Forest now to swim this morning.  Be sure once you're able to that you start exercising too.  THAT is so key to successful weight loss and maintaing it... find something you love and it will be EZ to do. BEST WISHES TOMORROW
