CIGNA insurance?
I dont currently have Cigna, I was on them previously and know they require the 6 month supervised diet (if she lives in NC, not sure about other states), they require 5 years weight history and you must meet a BMI of 35+ w/comorbs, or 40+ without for at least 4 of the past 5 years.
Of course they could have changed some but thats a basic idea.
First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)
1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)
Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011
BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014
Scar revision on arms - 3/2015
HALO laser on arms/neck 9/2016
Thigh Lift 10/2020
Thigh Lift revision 10/2021
I have cigna myself and yes, they requiere a supervise diet for six month. My process was as follow: June had my first consultation in June/06 with my surgeon, July/06 PCP and Phych eval, Aug/06 Nut, Sept/06 Surg, Oct/06 PCP, Sleep Study, and ENDO, Nov/06 Nut, and PCP, Dec/06 Surg. After that he send the request for approval with a letter and notes from my PCP, also a letter from me explaining why I wanted to have surgery. In Jan I was approved and I had the final tests done and on Feb/07 had my surgery. It sounds like a long process but believe me time goes fast. Good luck hope this helps your sister.
