SOIREE Recipe: Grilled Pork & Sage Meatballs
I got this recipe from a cookbook: 1000 Low Fat, Low Sugar, Low Carb Recipes
Calories: 96, Protein 8g, Carb 2g, Sugar 0g, Fat 7g / Sat Fat 2g.
1 lb ground pork
1/2 bread crumbs
1 small onion, diced
1 tbsp chopped fresh sage
2 tablespoon unsweet applesauce
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
salt & pepper
Baste:
3 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Mix bread crumbs, pork, onion, sage, applesauce and nutmeg. Shape mixture into small balls. Place on plate and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate minimum 30 minutes.
Soak wooden skewers in ice cold water for 30 minutes. Thread meatballs onto skewers. Make baste. Grill for approx 10-15 min, turning and basting frequently.
You can make Kabobs out of these too by adding vegetables.
