I had my 6 month check up today.

Good news. I'm ahead of the "curve". I've lost 69% of my excess weight. They consider you a bariatric success if you get to 60% by 1 year. They said to expect the weight loss to slow considerably ... I told them it already has. They said that normally you lose about 2/3's of your excess weight by 6 months and the last 1/3 during the next 6 months. They said that if all holds true I should have no problem getting to my ideal weight of 137 ... that said, they also said it's not necessary to go that low ... that most folks never do and that's fine.

I talked with them about my mind not really catching up with my body ... they said that's pretty normal too.

I got a b-12 shot. I'll continue with my multivitamins, calcium w/D and Prilosec. I'm to just stay the course ... They were pretty happy with me and I guess I am too.

You should be so happy with yourself that you are running up and down the streets yelling!  I am so glad to hear that things went well at your 6 month check up.  I have mine next month and I am a bit nervous... Stay the course Barb!!  You will see that goal weight soon!!

I am nervous about the bloodwor\k..  I am afraid they will find some type of deficiency or something.  I am praying that they do not, but you never know.  I take my vitamins (and then some).. and I feel good.  You just never know what they will find on the blood panel.  I pray it is all good news.  :) Congrats again on your success Barb!  You should be so proud of yourself.  (We sure are proud of you!)

Jennifer -

While I truly "understand" your concerns, I must say that I'm sure that all will be well. People who take care of themselves as you have, rarely run into deficiency issues.

I look forward to hearing wonderful news of your 6 month checkup in the new year!
