The thing is that Dr. Harris has never done Lap Band, but I was still willing to go with him because of his rep.  My friend and I were suppose to be his first two patients.  She had hers on yesterday, which I was suppose have mine as well.  He has to be proctored for his first couple of patients  They were trying to rush all my paperwork so I could have it when the specialist or protored would be there.  So I really do believe they sent the paperwork in half ass.  They did not have a clue what was going on, because they have only dealt with RNY patients in the past.   Me and my friend have the same insurance, but she  has so many other conditions that she needed to stay.  With me I just have borderline blood pressure (which my pressure is more low, than it is high) and GERD...so they did not see why I needed to stay.   Sucks...but I just don't like how easy he gave up on it.  I mean to tell me I can come pick up my records because he does not feel like going through it with the insurance.  I don't know what the insurance said to him or his employees, but he sure kicked me to the curb pretty quickly.  His nurse told me that both him and her called and argued with the insurance.  I just don't know....she was like the impatient and outpatient thing is a big issue for them.

Thanks Darcie!  I am going to appeal....I need to do something I defnitely don't want to gain more.  It's a hassle, but I know they will approve it eventually.  I'm going to push once more for the Lap Band, if it falls through I will consider the RNY.  We will see how it goes!  Thanks all for the support, if you have anymore insight let me know Kisha

So sorry to hear that. I can TOTALLY relate to your frustration and disappointment. I was denied by UHC and my appeal? Twice denied. BUT only due to an exclusion in our insurance policy. I am sure you'll get approval. Hang in there, kid. Blue skies ahead for both of us!!!! xoxo Mare  Sunny

BP, This is the worst part of getting wls the paper chase between doctors and insurance companys. I can only speak about myself here but I was denied twice for silly reasons which were resolved quickly. I also hand delivered my appeal letter to BCBS. Personally I am sooo happy I had the RNY mainly because I have lots more to go and I feel I am going to get there with my RNY. My advice is Do Not Give Up Keep Fighting for what you belive.                                                     Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?
