Hello All, Looks like Melkonian does his surgery much faster than most--- I was in and out in less than a hour, other than Melkoinan people, some are 2-3 hours. Oh well Please don't stress over the surgery it for me has been life saving :)

Yes I did.  I am so greatful for all of you here.  I hope that I will be able to share my experience later to help others.  It is really comforting to be able to share and get support from people who have been there and know what to expect.  Thank you!  Yep, it was a looooooooong road, but I made it.  Hope you are doing well!

1) I have no clue, I never asked. I was taken back to be prepped in the OR at about 9:45. I remember being in and out of it in the recovery at 1. I was in my room by 3. 2) They allowed my brother back to get my things right before. 3) Surgery was Mon. Went home Wed. 4) I have stitches. 5) I was off the drip the next day. Then only asked for pain meds as needed, which wasn't often. Don't be afraid to ask though. If you're in pain, use the meds. Will help with recovery. 6) I packed my hairbrush, toothpaste, toothbrush and books. Of course my clothes for going home. If you have a robe, you can pack that as well so you don't have to wear 2 hospital gowns. Good luck!

Thank you!  I like Dr. Naziri.  He is so nice.  I completely trust him!  Wow, your surgery wasn't long ago.  How are things going for you?

For the most part things are going well. I went through one spell of nausea a few days ago, but thanks to some suggestions from the ladies here I've got that under control. I go back for my follow up tomorrow. So that'll be the first official weigh in. The last pain med I took was the Sunday after the surgery. I was sitting here feeling some pain, not unbearable, but I figured they sent me home with meds I might as well use them. (I've never been good with liquid meds so I had CVS put in one of the flavors. Worked for me.)  I might add that I had gone out with a friend the day before shopping and might have overdone it.  For me the worst part has been being stuck in this house. I'm actually heading down to FL early to visit my mom and sister for Christmas. If all goes well with the follow up my plan is to leave Thurs. I definitely need a change of scenery. I feel guilty leaving because I feel like if I can do that, then I should be back at work teaching my students. I'm just not looking forward to the stress that it brings, so I hope Naziri will approve of me staying out until the New Year. Officially it's only 5 more days of school and this time of the year the kids get quite excited. Good luck with everything. Andrea
