That's a cool idea about buying the tickets to donate.  I'll paste in a quote from my step-mother about the game being in Hawaii: "East Carolina is going to Hawaii and I guess that is not on Jennifer or my Santa list since it is before Christmas and he will not arrive before December 23rd unless everyone wants to contribute to our trip for the full amount.  Soo….. December 22nd will be okay..." I'd really like to be going to Chattanooga on Friday for ASU's 3rd National Championship game.  Can you imagine the tailgating if ASU wins??  I'll be watching from the comforts of home.  Shaking my black and gold pom-poms and cheering every ASU first down!! Crossing my fingers and hoping that history is made!! CosmicKelly :)

Welcome aboard Kelly from another ECU Pirate.    Just to let you know about me-- I took my last diabetic meds the day before surgery and have never taken them again.  My last Hemoglobin A1C was 5.2.   I suffered from diabetes, high blood pressure, pernicious anemia and peripheral neuropathy.  The only medication left out of the 12 I used to take is my blood pressure medication and a sleeping pill.  I hope everything goes equally well for you.   I use to walk with a cane and now I cruise around without it and the kids at school are yelling at me to slow down that I am too fast for them.   I have truely been blessed.

Arrrrgh!! to you, my new ECU Pirate friend!!  I hope you are doing well!! I am in an interesting situation.  I've had diabetes since I was a youngster. (It's was first "diagnosed" when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade.)  I am on insulin.  When I went for a transplant evaluation a few years ago, it was determined (via a C-peptide test) that my pancreas was pumping out tons of insulin, but my body wasn't using it properly--Type II diabetes.  It also made me uneligible for a pancreas tranplant.  I am REALLY interested to see how the post-surgery weight loss will affect my diabetes.  My nephrologist told me that one of the good "side effects" of weight loss was diabetes control and/or elimination.  I am hoping that I'm like you and the diabetes will be "fixed." Wow, 12 medications!!  Whew!!  You'd think I take a million.  Actually, the only ones I take are Phoslo (a phosphorus binder), Senipar (to keep the phosphorus from zapping my bones), Dilavyte (a vitamin for kidney patients), and Lyrica (keeps the neuropathy managable) You we're taking about kids at school.....are you a teacher??  I used to teach first grade and I loved it, dearly!! Thank you for the warm welcome!!  Hope you have an AWESOME day!! CosmicKelly :)

Welcome Kelly to the NC Board from yet another ECU Pirate!  I am a graduate x 2 (BS and MS) from ECU and also WORK at our esteemed alma mater. :)  I'm SO HAPPY we beat State this weekend-- how cool is that! I would love for all of us to be able to go to the bowl game in HI also, but oh well... At least our players can enjoy some fun in the sun. Let’s just hope they bring home a BOWL GAME WIN!

Anyway, welcome to our board! I look forward to "chatting" with you!
