Yea, Becky!! on having a surgery date!!  I am so envious of you!!  I'm doing RNY, myself.  Medicade/care doesn't pay for Lapband at Duke.  Plus, outcomes seem to be a whole lot better with the RNY from what I've been reading.  I have a secondary insurance, too. So, hopefully, I'll be A-OK!! Please keep us all updated on your progess!! I've only been in Alamance county for a couple of years.  I moved here when I met my DH. He's lived here his whole life.  I grew up in Hickory and taught (most recently) in the big city--Greensboro!! Good luck on your surgery!!  Only 10 days away!! Have an AWESOME day!! CosmicKelly :)

Hi Kelly -

Nice to "see" you again. I hope that you will find this forum as informative and supportive as I have. I honestly do not think that I would have done nearly as well as I have without the support of so many people on this board.

I too, look forward to getting to know you and making friends.

You may recall that I also had my surgery at Duke. If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to contact me. I'd be glad to answer any questions that I can. (This coming Wed. I go in for my 6 month checkup ... It's hard to believe that it's already been six months. I'm looking forward to a good report.)

Thanks for telling us about yourself. Feel free to check out my profile for information about me.

We are having a get together this coming Saturday in Raleigh. I hope that you'll be able to make it. For more information about it, you can go to www.meetup.com/101

Wishing you all the best,

Barb

P.S.  Congrats on the great ASU season too.  I'm an ECU Pirate so I can appreciate being an alum of a "smaller" school.  I've enjoyed gloating all day today with ECU whipping up on NCSU last night in Greenville.  Wish I had been there... There're few things sweeter than the top half of today's News and Observer sports page... ALL ECU! Gooooo PIRATES!

Pirates sink Wolfpack, 75-69

Aunt_DeeDee, Thanks for the warm Pirate welcome!!  And congrats on your win, as well!! My sister is an ECU PIRATE. (I have a brother at WCU and a sister at ECU!!) Had ECU's bowl game been in Birmingham, AL instead of Hawaii this year, she and my dad would have made the trek.  They went to Birmingham (I believe it was last year) to the bowl game and had a blast!! I know what you mean about press coverage, too!!  WOOT WOOT!!  My dh was in line at Books-a-Million getting the Sports Illustrated isue the week after ASU beat Michigan.  We (ASU) were all over everywhere!!  I just wish Michigan would have had a better season, overall, so it really would have meant something!!!  Thanks, again, for the warm welcome!! Have an AWESOME day!! CosmicKelly :)

I"m not even an App State fan, but even I kept that paper with the headlines of the Michigan game!  And I just heard on the radio coming home from G-Vegas a few minutes ago that ASU sold OUT their requested allotment of tickets (7,000) in under 7 hours for your game with Delaware. I surely hate (for fans sake) our bowl is in Hawaii!  Otherwise, I'd have been at it if the Pirates were going anywhere else.  I was SO looking forward to trekking to a bowl game this year.  There's been a LOT of media coverage today about how Pirate Club members are buying and donating tickets for our military based in Hawaii to go to our bowl game so there will be at least SOME folks sitting in the ECU seats!  If there aren't enough takers, they will be giving them to Fire, Police, Rescue folks along with underprivileged families.  I've got to get over there and buy a few tickets to donate too.
