First meal of the day

I read Aunt DeeDee's previous post about feeling nauseous, but since mine is occuring at a different time I thought I would ask you experts for advice. My nausea only occurs with my first meal. I had my wls on 11/26. This just started on Thursday. Since I'm still on liquids I'm not really sure what's causing this all of a sudden. The feeling does last for only about 30-60 min. Like Aunt DeeDee said it does put you down for the count and makes you feel weak the rest of the day. Not to mention not wanting to drink anything else because you're afraid to feel that way again. I do stick with drinking my protein at the next appointed time and am fine. It's just that first initial meal. I go for my follow up on Wed, the 12th, so it's definitely on my list to talk with Dr. Naziri about. That's four more days though to go through that and it just sucks. Look forward to hearing your suggestions.

What you are feeling is very common so early on.  It will get better as your new digestive system learns to function under the new "regime."  I would suggest increasing the number of meals each day to at least 6-8 and decreasing the size of each meal, so that there is less of a "hold" period between yesterday's last meal and today's first meal, and so that today's first meal isn't such a big deal for your pouch.  If you are already doing 6-8 meals per day, try increasing the number to 8-10 and decreasing the volume.  Make sure you have a "snack" before you go to bed so that again, there is less of a period between meals during which your pouch is empty.  Hope this helps!  Keep us posted!

When I do my protien shake in the morning it makes me so sick I have to go lay down. I do not throw up just a wiped out feeling. I have started eatting half of a METRX PROTIEN PLUS bar with my coffee and I am fine. Makes alot of sense about having a snack before bedtime thanks for that input Suzann Good luck and just know you are not alone    in this feeling.                                         Annie

Thanks for the input guys. Kinda thought it might be because I hadn't had anything for awhile. Since I slept in so late yesterday, my meal plans were completely off so I didn't even have the last until 11pm. I made sure to get up around 7 this morning so if that first meal made me feel ick I would be able to lay down before church. Good news though, no ick feeling. YEA! So I'm going to space my 6 meals out by 3 hours and that should be able to keep the schedule. Of course I go for my first follow up on Wed. so I'll make sure to ask the doc about it.  Thanks again ladies.

When doing my shake I always would try to allow for 30 minutes to lay down before going anywhere. Let me know what your doc says about this sick feeling so many of us get I would be intrested to know. Take care sounds like you are doing good.                                                        Annie
