cardiology appointment today

My wls md requested that I have a cardiology clearance before moving to the next step.I went for testing on Monday and Tues. I had a chemical stress test and ecocardiogram. I felt fine. Yesterday the office called and insisted that I come in this morning as my test were not normal and we need to discuss what the next step will be. I am very afraid of what the results might be and also that my surgurey will never happen. On the other hand I am glad that if there is a problem that we are finding out now. Please pray for me today. Thanks Betty

First of all, I'm so glad that you had the test and that your Dr's are going to diagnose and treat the problem. Please let us know what happens at your appointment today. I'll be thinking of you.

Secondly, don't worry so about if they will do WLS for you. My mother, who has had multiple "cardiac events", two TIAs, and has stage 3 kidney failure is eligble to have the lapband done if she wants to do it. What I'm saying is that hopefully whatever the issue is, I'll bet once it's addressed you can move forward with a WLS procedure that will best meet your needs ... and if it ends up being the lapband for you, there are plenty of folks right here on the nc board that are doing great with it ... just talk with Nancy or Sheila.

Everything happens for a reason, so this may be one of those little blessings that "just happens."  I had something found in my esophagus by my doc only because he insisted on doing his own endoscopy when I had already had one done.  If he hadn't been insistent that he does his own, this potentially cancerous issue would probably have gone undetected until it became a problem.  I'll be thinking good thoughts for you today.

The same thing happened to me.  I ended up having a heart cath before I could get clearance.  The Heart Cath turned out 100% OK.   It makes me feel better to know that my health status was good before surgery and now its going to be GREAT!    Thinking good thoughts for you and saying that prayer. 

Wow, that is scary.  I was really scared when they told me mine was abnormal.  But, like my cardiologist said.......getting this weight off of my body is the best thing to do for the problem.  He just made sure my heart was strong enough for the surgery.  It is good that they caught the problem though.  Don't get discouraged.  It will happen.  I will pray for you today.

Hello Betty, It could be something as simple as an irregular heart  beat and they just want to double check and do more tests. Mine came back abnormal and they called me and FREAKED ME OUT and did another test and it turns out I have a slight murmur but it will not effect WLS. Reguardless of what it is, I will be praying for you and please keep us updated so we know you are ok! :)-Meagan
