Hello, I was wondering when I have this done since I have low blood sugar will that also go away? He told me my Psuedotumor cerebri would go away but it seems like my low blood sugar is being has beena  problem lately (I almost passed out in class the other night.)  I would think that if you have low blood sugar WLS would make things worse since you are not able to intake as much food/sugar into your diet? Just wondering how all this relates to blood sugar problems. Thanks, Meagan Tedeschi

Meagan -

There has been a lot of research lately about how RNY seems to impact Type 2Diabetes. They aren't sure exactly what the mechanism is, but it seems to impact the body's regulation of glucose and insulin. It may be that after the surgery, you won't have the same hypoglycemic episodes. I'd want to check into it and see what type of endrocronological studies and/or info might be available.

Good question!
