I have a couple questions...

I didn't even think about the support Ted Socks.  Ya know..  that was a struggle to get them straight and not cutting off the circulation every day.  I really do think that might be part of my bruising.  thanks Grammy!!!!   I CANNOT WAIT TO HAVE TUNA!!!   I'm craving tuna.  LOL.  I like the protein bars also.  but those and the tuna are so far away.  ::::sigh::: Connie

Bruises... I would just call the surgeons nurse just to be on the safe side... could be from moving you onto the table and back to the bed?

Sore throat - again call the surgeon and see what they reccomend... could be from the surgery itself (breathing tube)

Protein - do the best you can and dont worry too much... it will take you about a month to figure out all the protein. Just make sure you stay focused and get as much protein and water as possible and dont stress - nobody gets it all in right away :-)

Thanks Jennifer for your support.   I asked them about my bruises when I called this morning and they said everything that all of you have.  Its the shots and the laying on the surgeon table so long.   My throat...well...its not a typical sore throat.  I think it might be from the tube they used during surgery.  I honestly don't knwo though.  I've just been drinking cold water and that helps so much.   I've given up on the worry of the protein.  You are right.  the most important thing is just "doing it"! BTW - you look great!!!  Congrats on your success.  I'm thinking about you during your gallbladder stuff.  My hubbin went through it last year and he was hurtin!!  So I'm sympatheic to what you are feeling.  Hang in there...   Connie

When I went to visit the anesthesiologist he told me they strap you down during surgery so they can move the table around for the doctor to perform the surgery.  Not to be surprised if I wake up with bruises.  I am so excited for you and so happy you are doing so great. Woooooooooo hoooooooooooooo

Its the Heparin Shots.  I looked like I had been beat to a bloody pulp.  If my daughter had not stayed in the room 24/7 she would have sworn that the hospital staff was abusing me.  Every thing I touched and everywhere I was touched bruised for about a week.    I had a huge hematoma under one of my incisions which was one of the things the Heparin was supposed to avoid.   It went away in about 10 days.   I still have some faint discoloration on my arms from my IV and that is 4 months ago.    Glad to hear you are home and feeling well enough to complain----  That is a true sign that you are on the mend!

Thank you for your words.  I know now after reading and really thinking about it...the bruises are from so many things.  I bruise easily anyway....pre-op.....  so I know this is ok.  I'll make sure they see them tomorrow when I go.   Yep...I'm complaining ....   and my hubbin said the same thing...   "you must be getting better".  LOL Connie

Hey Connie I just came from Dr. B's office and of course I have a lot of bruising as well, of course the frist thing Dr. B said was "who beat you up" My reply " I believe that would be you, only you had me knocked out before I had a chance to fight back"  Anyway the bruises were no surprise to him.     As for the protien, I'm not so sure there is a whole lot we can do about that...LOL I hope your doing well!

You had your one week apointment today...   woo hooo!   So tell me how everything went??!!  Did you get the staples out?  ouuuuch!  I'm not looking forward to that.  So tell me the truth! 

I'm so excited for you.  We are making it ....  oh yeah.   This has been a great experience for me so far.  :::fingers crossed::::  

I'm just bored outta my mind.  that is my problem right now.  Wish we could all get together and decorate a Christmas Tree or something.

So far Connie I think this has been the best decsion I have ever made.  The Staples were a breeze I didn't feel a thing, She took them out and now I have some steri strips over the incisions.   I only had one issue and that is getting in all the water, and I heard about that, so now the water bottle is my new best friend...lol  other than that everything is AOK! YaHOooooo    Oh hey!  did I mention the best part..... The weight seems to be falling off.....YEAH ME!   So your visit tomorrow with Dr. B NO WORRIES!
