Tomorrow is my day!!!
Hi Suzy -
It is soooo normal to be nervous. Not only are you having major surgery tomorrow, but it will require major lifestyle changes. That said, I have to tell you that everyone that I know that has done this says that it's the best thing they ever did for themselves. When I got nervous, I made a list of the reasons I applied to have the procedure done and also looked at the likelihood I'd be able to take care of those things if I didn't have the surgery. The surgery always won out ... my fear of dying young, and not living fully if I didn't have the surgery, trumped my fear of the pain, possible complications and life-style changes I'd be facing by deciding to have the surgery.
You have to do what's best for you. It appears that if you've gotten to this point, you've decided that this what's best for you and your Dr's and even the insurance company agree.
Remember that we are all here to support you as you make this journey. I look forward to getting to know you as you share your concerns, experiences and triumphs.
Wishing you all the best and keeping you in thought and prayer.
