Update on the wife

Hey Everybody! My wife had her RNY yesterday afternoon at PCMH in Greenville, NC.  She came through great and was up and in the chair by her bed within a few hours of the surgery.  She continues to do well and will most likey be discharged in the AM.  I stayed all day but had to come home and take care of our kids.  She has a great nurse and I'm sure she's in great hands.  She's doing most things for herself now anyway (bathroom, water, etc).   Thanks a million to everyone on the board who answered our thousands of questions!  I'm probably going to be having mine in February.  Want to make sure she's over the hump (our kids are 3 and 6!).  Again, thanks.

Jason,  I'm so glad to hear that she came through with no problems.  I hope that she has an easy recovery...I'm sure it's a blessing for her to have someone who understands and can take care of her afterwards.  Looking forward to hearing an update....keep us posted! Nancy

Jason my best to you and your wife. This is a life changing experice and if I had to do it again I would do it in a sec. Tell your wife to go slow at drinking and when starting to eat again. I think you both have a wonderful reason to have the surgery and that is you have young children that is a blessing in its self.                                                         Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

I'm a bit envious!  My husband isn't open to WLS - and I totally support and respect that - but what a wonderful thing to have your best friend on the journey with you. You've very fortunate that you'll have each other as you achieve great things! Plus, you've got all of us - so you're in GREAT shape! Nikki

Hey!  I'm glad to hear your wife is doing well and I know you're anxiously waiting for your turn!  I can't imagine both of you having WLS at the same time with a 3 & 6 year old... yikes!  Smart of you to spread it out a bit.  Isn't Dr. MacDonald the best???  He's going to be doing my gall bladder surgery on the 20th also (did my RNY 8/22/2002).   Anyway, thanks for the update!  Tell her welcome to the loosers bench for me please!
