8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? At about age 6 or 7 my parents finally confessed.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? No
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? We used to have two trees; one for this living room with beautiful glass ornaments, snow flakes, icicles and birds, draped with iredescent pearl garland and topped with a porcelain angel. In the family room we had one filled with homemade ornaments, apples, gingerbread families and topped with a papier mache Santa. This year we have one tree in the living room with all of that stuff. You can hardly see the tree.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread ? I'm from CA, so it's a real novelty and I have to say that I love it! Whenever it snows, my daughter and I take a snow walk.
12. Can you ice skate? Nope ... I'm afraid I spend most of my time on one set of cheeks or the other ... LOL

14.What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? It's a time to see and be with those that mean the most to me. This year is hard, because it will be the first that I won't spend with my adult sons and my husband's family who live in CA.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? It's the one time I seem to be able to get my family together at the same table for breakfast!
17. What tops your tree? The papier mache Santa my husband got for me on our first Christmas we were married. We saw it at a holiday speciality store and I just loved it, but we were too strapped to get it. He collected and returned soda cans and bottles for months, saving the proceeds and surprised me with it on our first Christmas. His thoughtfulness always warms my heart as I unwrap Santa and place him up on the top of tree.

While Chanuka is probably the best known Jewish Holiday to people who are not Jewi**** is actually a "minor" Jewish holiday that is about religious freedom and miracles. It's one of my favorite holidays and in many ways really connects me to my patriotism as well as my religion.
When I was a child, I was often the only Jewish child in my grade, so my parents were always asked to come in and do a demonstration of the Menorah, playing dredel and making latkes. When my children where in elementary school, I took over the torch and did the same for my children.
I collect Menorah's and Dredel's
We use a different Menorah each night.
We use different types of candles ... some blue, some white, some colored
Each night we get and give a small gifts.
We used to have something fried in oil each night to remember the miracle of the oil burning for 8 nights. Now I have to admit that we try to oven roast things instead but, I still brush them with a bit of olive oil :-)
