Is this a stall or ...

I'm struggling some with weight ... I've only lost 3 lbs in the past month. I don't know how much is attributable to my messing around and/or if I'm just hitting an inevitable plateau. I haven't been really bad, but I haven't been really good either. Some days my calorie count runs upwards of 1000 - 1200 calories. It's a little unnerving to think that I may be cheating myself out of full value of the time I have to strip off all of the weight.

Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted with all of the weight I've lost, it's just unnerving to only lose 3 lbs in a month. I've been looking at what I've been eating/doing and of course, there's room for improvement.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Barb

It could be a lot of things.  You might need to up the exercise, water, and protein.  Maybe you need to go back to basics for a bit, or maybe your body is just taking a break.  Either way this too shall pass.  The thing is, you don't have to stop losing weight at a year just because your doctor said that's when you'll stop.  You are in charge of this process and you can continue to lose well after the "honeymoon" period is over.  The other thing to consider is that at your weight, you're going to lose less.  It just takes less calories for you to do everyday movement than it did when you were bigger.  It's natural for the weight to slow down when you get smaller. Again, this too shall pass.  You'll get there Barb. Take care. Ellen

Barb!!  You have done wonderfully!!  I bet you have just reached a mini-stall or plateau....  Stick with your healthy lifestyle and I know you will see more weight coming off soon.  I just think that our bodies need times to adjust.  :)  They have been through huge changes this year!!!

When I hit november I was just a few weeks behind you.... the scale went up and down the same 3lbs the entire month - by month end I lost just ONE pound... however, the next month in the first 2 weeks I lost something like 10 or 11lbs.... so I would just be patient :-) I found many people have hit a stall around this point!

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011

BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014
