Welcome to the NC Board.  These are the best people around.  Congrats on your approval...and I agree, let your surgeon know about your insurance issue.  They can hopefully get you in this year.  I had kinda the same situation.  It never hurts to ask....beg....plead...  ya know?!  LOL

As so many before me have said, Welcome! I hope that you find this board as helpful and supportive as I have.

I also had my surgery through DukeWLS at Durham Regional. Dr. DeMaria was my surgeon. I'm going to the support group meeting this evening. Are you going to be there? If so, I hope to meet you there.

Please pass my warmest congratulations to your husband. I'm sure that he will be a big help to you as you embark on this journey. I have been talking with my husband and he's decided that he is also going to "take the plunge." He has his first appointment with his PCP next week so it's going to be a while.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
