Don't worry Reenie - I am eating enough for both of us right now LOL

Can we say food funeral???

Jodi told me veggies were fine on the preop diet too as long as they're not starchy like corn. I'm going to write a book "101 ways to cook broccoli".....

You sure you don't wanna trade dates with me? :)

"FOOD FUNERAL" Did I say it right? I  had broccoli and a protein shake for dinner.

Hi Reenie -

You are right, it will pass quickly ... and slowly ... but, you'll be on the loser's bench before you know it. Remember that when the liquid diet seems challenging that the reason my Dr's ask you to do it, is to shrink the liver so that they can more easily do the RNY lap... and of course, we all want lap vs. open if at all possible.

I'm looking forward to hearing of your journey.

Barb

That's for sure Barb, Lap is the best way. I had an open Gallbladder surgery before lap was the thing. It was not pleasant. I will keep you posted.

Hey!  I started my pre-op diet today too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I thought I was having it rough.  I can imagine having to do the liquid diet.  I am doing low carb.......under fourty carbs a day.  It is not that bad.  Yep.....your date is coming very quick... Mine is Dec. 17.  You will loose.  Be strong and stick with it.  Your right it will help you out in the long run.

I feel lucky to be on a 2 week liquid diet. You have 3 weeks of liquid/low carb.  WOW!!! We will check out each other progress. Reenie

Good luck!  For me the first 3 and the last 2 were the worst of the pre-op diet.  I was on OptiFast and the strawberry was terrible.  But, I made it and here I am 35 pounds lighter!  You will do great, just keep your eye on the goal!  Alice
