I looked at a can of cranberry sauce and saw the unGodly amount of sugar in it.  Does anyone know if they make a s/f or a splenda canned sauce.  If not, does anyone (Diane, here's your quest, lol) have a recipie for s/f or splenda cranberry sauce I can make?  I'm a good cook (no comment on the can) and could make up a recipie, but thought I'd throw the question out there.  Gobble Gobble! Below is a copy of this post I put in main forum days ago. Homemade Cranberry Sauce 1 bag cranberries 1 cup sugar OR 1 cup Splenda 1 cup water Pinch of salt Pick out any "bad" looking berries.  Place all in saucepan and bring to boil.  Stir frequently until berries have "popped" and sauce is thickening.  Put in serving bowl, cover and refrigerate. Can be made days ahead of time.   VARIATIONS: -For added pop of flavor, add some grated orange rind, orange marmalade or tangerine and use OJ instead of the water. -Coarsely chop 2 Granny Smith apples and sub white wine or apple juice for the water for Apple Cranberry Sauce. -Toasted pecan pieces or walnut pieces can be added after cooked. -Saute some shallots or sweet onion in pan before adding above ingredients -Swirl in some red pepper jelly for a little "kick" -If your crowd likes ginger, add in a little of that. -If you prefer "jellied" sauce like in the can, add in a T. of unflavored gelatin powder. -Other add-ins can be cinnamon, raisins, currants, dates, fresh or frozen blueberries/strawberries, nugmeg, allspice -Sub some port wine for the water -Add in some chopped dried cherries -Or, add in a little crushed pineapple, finely chopped jalapeno pepper and some fresh cilantro.  This is great after Turkey Day to make some Southwestern wraps!  Or puddle this on top of some Lite or FF cream cheese as a "dip/spread." -After Thanksgiving, stir in a little mustard (if there's any sauce left) and use it on leftover turkey sandwiches/wraps. MY favorite way is just plain, as in the recipe above w/out any "stuff" in it. Surprise your family this year with the real stuff!  It just doesn't get any easier...

P.S.  If you have kiddos, bring them in the kitchen while making this.  They will get a kick out of hearing the cranberries "popping" as they get hot and break open.

Thanks a bunch, I think I am going to try it and maybe add a little orange peel and some walnuts! Nancy

This is not cranberry sauce but it is good. I tried it at Sams.  I made some changes to it. I think it is a chuctney 1/4 cp of dried cherries 1/4 cp craisens  (my addition) 1/2 large red onion 1/4 cp crushed pinapple ( I used the splenda kind) 1/4 cp dried apples chopped up (my addition) 1/2 cp chicken broth Sautee all in a pan till tender and onions soft. It is pretty to look at and tart and sweet with no sugar added. But it does have callories. It is good with ham  or fowl and I liked it on my green beans. It would not be hard to add up all the calories to find out  how much per serving it is. I just have not taken the time. I don't eat much at a time. I don't like cranberry sauce and this is close enough for me. Good Luck Myrtis
