25th Wedding Anniversary

The love of my life and I will have been married for 25 years come this May. She has gone through a lot over the years with my many illnesses and then my WLS four months ago. Her favorite place to be is at the ocean and I would love to take her away from all the stress of work (she's a elementary school teacher) and everything else for a few days at a nice quiet little place on the beach. I thought maybe someone on this board would have some suggestions. Not too expensive since we have twins in college right now, but someplace comfortable. I know it would be a little cold for swimming in May, but just being able to walk on the beach, hand in hand, would be wonderful. Thanks

Michael

My husband, daughter and I often enjoy spending time at Carolina Beach. It's just south of Wilmington. We usually stay at the Atlantic Towers. It's a condo complex right on the water and it's very reasonably priced. You might want to check out their website, which is http://www.atlantic-towers.com/

Congratulations on 25 years together. My dear husband and I just celebrated out 30th wedding anniversary. Our twins will be 26 this December. Our youngest is 13.

Enjoy them all.

Barb beat me to it.  I was going to suggest the Carolina/Kure Beach area.  My FAVORITE place to chill!

And you can drive a few miles down the road, hop on the Ft. Fisher Ferry and go over to Southport to piddle around too.  (45 minute ferry ride). http://www.visitnc.com/where_to_go_coast_capefear.asp Go to http://www.visitnc.com to find events by month too... you might see something fun around one of the beaches of interest during the dates in May. HAVE FUN...

Following along with Barb and Wendy- www.vrbo.com is a great website- its vacation homes and condos rented directly from the owners- can click on the beach area and then go from there. I stay at a place called Sand Peebles condo in Carolina Beach- 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront with 2 pools and it is really reasonable. Congrats on 25yrs! Sheila

I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....

My favorite beach of all favorites is Sunset Beach on the Nc/Sc border.  It's worth a look.  Hope you have a great vacation!  They have a wonderful country store and a hugs Christmas Shop in Calabash, which is only a hop-skip-and jump away. Nancy

I vote for the outerbanks. So much to do there. Not a bad drive from Fredericksburg. There is nice hotel in  Nags Head. It has an indoor heated pool  and is right on the ocean.  http://www.blueheronnc.com/?freelinkfrom=http://www.outerban ks.com Belinda
