****100lbs gone****

Almost a month ago I set a 'challenge' for myself to lose the last of the weight I wanted by Thanksgiving. I set the bar high at 10lbs knowing I wouldnt lose quite that much but I wanted to hit two major milestone****ting goal and hitting 100lbs lost. I hit goal a week or so ago and now I hit the 100lbs lost!!  I am still very much amazed at this whole process... the past 1.5 years have just flown by. I see my NUT on Monday - she hasnt seen me since I was 9 months out and I am excited to show her all my progress. I am going to be learning about 'maintenance eating' and am looking forward to moving onto that phase of the journey.  So to all those who are just starting out - you can achieve the goals you set for yourself. The surgery is only a tool and it takes a lot of work in order to be successful and stay successful. For those of you who complain about losing to slow or the scale stopping - you WILL get there. It took me ONE YEAR and FIVE MONTHS to lose 100lbs.... and you know what? It doesnt bother me... the first 6 months I left the frustration get to me, I compared myself to others but then I made a decision - it didnt matter how long it took me to get to goal as long as I got there. Its not a weight loss race its a matter of being healthy and doing what you need to do to succeed. There is so much more to this than the scale.. one you take your focus off that you will see.  Celebrate each and every pound gone - because its a pound gone FOREVER!
