The Time is Near*

I go see Dr.K and Jodi this coming Tuesday for my pre-op visit. I pre registered on-line  @ CMC-Mercy, I assume I will still get a call from  the hospital to see the anesthesiologist ect. What to expect from all of this? Just want to be perpared. I called last night and got registered for STD thru work. They will be sending forms for DR. to sign. Hope everthing goes smooth from here on.

That's good news, Reenie.  They will walk you through everything, but write down any questions that may come to mind before then while you are waiting then you can bring them with you. Also, don't assume the paperwork is all being processed with the STD.  I would also be sure to open a claim for FMLA at the same time so your job will be protected.  And make sure everyone is submitting all the correct paperwork on time! You will do great!

Thanks for the great advice. I will keep close contact to HR so it will run smooth. I talked to my boss/friend,  She said that my job will be here when I get back.

This is a very exciting time :)   I went to visit Pat when she had surgery at Mercy, WOW they have a wonderful wing for gastric folks--- much better than the plain old fashion room I had a Presbyterian. Good luck and WELCOME to the Loser bench

The rooms in the Bariatric Wing were nice at Mercy.. but the best thing were the nurses.  They were fantastic.  I was treated like royalty.  :)  

 Yes, the suites are great at CMC-Mercy. Each one is a private room as far as I know. I wonder if I will have to pay the difference with my Ins. that it is not a semi-private or if they bill it in a way that will be covered? Will wait and see. See you soon on the bench!

WOW!  When again do you start the 2 week liquid diet?   You will have to go to Mercy and they will just weigh you and ask you 5 million questions. You will talk to the nurse and anesthesiologist.  No big deal there. I am so excited for you!!  :) 

I start my liquid diet on the 26th. I thought they would take more blood ect. I assume all the vials they took at the beginning of this journey will be enough.

Be sure to take notes when you go in to see the folks at the hospital and when you talk to your HR and benefits people.
