When's it ok to go back to work
My surgery was Oct. 19th and I went back part time this week and will go full time next week. I have a desk job so that makes it easier. You need to consider the type of work you do. Your doctor will advise you when it's safe to go back.

I was done lap, and my doctor cleared me for "anything" I wanted to do at 2 weeks post op. I know that if i'd have had a desk job, I could have gone back just fine at that point. It depends on the individual and how your surgery goes.

I had surgery on Tuesday... worked at my p/t job Saturday for 3 hours and back to my f/t job on Monday. The first week back I worked 9-1... the following week my normal 8-5 schedule. I work a desk job that required no lifting... honestly if I could have taken 2 weeks off I would have - even 1 week would have been great... I had no vacation time and where I worked didnt offer STD.
First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)
1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)
