Reputation is the best buy to hire a lawyer.  call and talk with a few offices.  I got letters from the lawyers when i had my accident soliciting their services.  I am sorry I cannot help you with a name.  Just ask around and look at commericals.  The biggest most known usually get the best payouts for their clients. I'd be sick over the car situation especially since you own it and now you'll have to go indebt again.  You will be victimized because it's in the insurances best interest to save them $$ adn get you to settle.  There are people that will take a couple hundred for pain and suffering and then they have no ground to stand on for further issues or health complexitieis.  I wish I could help you some more. I always joked that if I got in a car accident I'd fall otu of the car and play dead.  You are not doing anything wrong, you have to look out for you because yoru on your own.  There is no hospitality or things like that, so think like a NY'er and handle the situation with that gumption!!   I remember my daughter was in teh car when I got hit, she was almost 3.  They were scrutinizing if i had her buckled in her child safety seat and that we had our restraints on.  I got hit by a kid too and h tried to intimidate me.

Oh you should have seen this kid right after the impact!  He came charging out of his car swearing like you wouldn't believe and pounding his fist all over the place.  He may have actually pounded on my car, I can't remember.  I closed my door and decided to let him cool off before I got out of the car! Yes, they offered me up to $2500 in medical expenses and $500 to me for my inconvenience.  Nice try.  I will meet with one of the biggest advertisers on tv tomorrow.  They take a third of the settlement but it will likely be worth it.

DO NOT under any cir****tances cash that check!  You will waive all of your rights if you do.  Once you deposit that check, everything is finished and you won't get anything else. I would contact Jim Long's office (State Ins. Commissioner) to complain about your insurance company.  Something is definitely not right there.  They should be fighting for you.
