Done swoll up, the sequel

So about a week ago I posted that I had been retaining water (ie Michelin man).  In retrospect, I think this may be why we are in a drought, I've got all the water! Anyhoo, you guys asked me to post once I spoke with my PCP.  I saw Dr. Larsen today to get my six month blood work done as well as thyroid and get my flu shot.  The fluid retention has subsided somewhat but is still more than I have had.  so I ask Dr. L if the prempro I'm taking for hot flashes may be causing the issue, and he says "Oh yeah!"  I have been having pms type symptoms for a couple of weeks, similar to the symptoms I had prior to starting menopause.  He said that the prempro is going to put them hormones back in the system and it isn't surprising to get these symptoms.   I have started on only 1/2 pill per day now, to see how things go, so hopefully that will make a difference.  If in fact I have been retaining water since getting back on the prempro (which I started back on in July) then that may be why I feel like I've stalled some and just lost R E A L L Y   S L O W L Y . . . . . - so here's hoping that as the fluid leaves,  the scale drops! Thanks for all the support here, you guys are the greatest!

Hi Robin -

I'm glad to hear that there is a "reason" for the stall and like you said, with the fluid issues managed you'll probably start losing more than you have recently. I was looking at your "stats" on your signature line though and I have to say you have had some pretty amazing results.

Keep up the good work.

Barb

Thanks Barbara!  I have done really well so far, but I have so far to go!  I'll get there, tho.  I think I am one of those slow and steady losers.  Like the little engine that could.
