Hi Jenn!! Welcome to the OH board - you will enjoy being here.  There is so much help and sharing - I just can't believe it.  I am fairly new to the board but have already got a lot of good information ,tips and hints to help me on my way.  My surgery date is also November 20.  I live in Hickory but am having my surgery at Durham Regional Hospital (a part of Duke) in Durham, NC.  The WLS people here in Hickory turned me down in 2005 after my PCP suggested I apply.  They said I was to old (at the time I had just turned 66 - I am now 68) and that I had a lot of surgery and quite a few other conditions.  I didn't get mad but I was dissappointed.  I went to Duke to see if they could do anything with my excessively large hiatal hernia and was told that they could fix it but also offer me the weight loss surgery.  You can read my story on my profile.   Send me a PM and give me your email address and your telephone number - we can stay in touch and see how each other is doing after our surgeries.
