Hey Everyone, I never thought to really come on this site. I live in Lenoir, NC. I posted about my pre-op and Barbara C. mentioned it. I am 18 and I have been struggling with weight all my life. You can go to my profile to get more info. But like I said, I had my pre-op today and I get getting so excited. I thought it would be good to get to know some of ya'll in my neck of the woods..lol.. I am having my gastric bypass at Frye Hospital and Dr. Leland Cook is doing it! Hope to get to know some of ya'll! Have a great afternoon!!!

Hey Jennifer!  Welcome... I'll look forward to watching your journey... I'm sorry to read about the very recent loss of your daddy.  It's great that you and your mom are standing close together.  I know God is giving you both strength these days as you morn this loss last month and prepare to begin your new journey too.  Brighter days are ahead for you.  Keep in touch with us here... this is a very supportive crowd of folks!

I am so happy for you , I have heard people say younger folks should not have this life saving surgery , I do not agree, I say the sooner the better. I wonder how different my life would be if I could have lost this weight when I was 18, I would have mosy likely not had to have so many surgerys or less health issues.. etc..

SO you GO GIRL -- listen to your doctor and your nurtrionist person , take care and WELCOME to our little world.

Hey Girl - I agree and applaud you for taking charge of your body at such a young age. I wish I had, I can't imagine the different choices in life I would have made with more self-esteem and control. Good luck and welcome!
