OKAY........
I had considered cooking cornish hens- its seems a turkey is just soooo much meat.....I frequently am throwing out left overs, so Thanksgiving is going to take a little bit of planning.
Maybe enjoy the company and conversation and make the food secondary???

We've done Cornish Hens for a few years now for Turkey Day. My little family (daddy, sis and her hubby and 3yo nephew) don't care a thing about turkey.
There are many things you can do with the hens... and they are really yummy on the grill. Brining them makes them SO moist and juicy and tender! I'll post in a separate post with recipe for that and roasted veggies on the side!
I'm having surgery the 28th so Thanksgiving could possibly be my "last meal". LOL
no no There is no last meal. I'm not going crazy or anything..but I am seriously going to tell you that I will be looking forward to having this holiday so close to my surgery every year. I am so THANKFUL however for everyone posting all of these wonderful ideas, because it is making me realize just how much we all have to be thankful for. Since this new journey Thanksgiving has a whole new meaning now!
So keep posting some ideas... I've already started loosing and all of these things sounds great so far.
