Ok so a few weeks ago I never felt full, didnt get sick off anything except stir fry.. last week I ate candy.. no problems... now all of a sudden everything is feeling like crap except yogurt and smoothies. I cant live off of these!!!! I tried a piece of boiled chicken... it felt like a big huge hunk of mud in my pouch. I tried chicken noodle soup.. same heavy feeling, I had a tiny tiny tiny bite of refried beans which I could eat just fine two weeks ago and I dumped at Taco Bell. Drinking is another problem. When I take drinks of cold or room temp water or juice it hurts like hell. I first thought maybe its because of the cold temp but now even the room temp stuff is bugging me. Yes I chew up everything till its mush. Yes I take tiny bites. Everything I put in my mouth seems to feel heavy and hurtful and like I need to run for the toilet like I do right now.............I just dumped chicken broth... I feel horrible, guess I need to call my doctor thanks for letting me vent.. hubby doesnt know what to do and feels bad for me.

Oh Darcie,  I'm praying for you that you feel better soon!  I am not really familiar with all of the side-effects and symptoms yet, but I'm wondering if you might have a stricture?  Hopefully someone that has experienced these things will reply.  Either way, you're right...calling your Dr is your best bet.

Good luck and let us know what you find out!

That sure doesn't sound like fun.  Sounds like me the first 3 or 4 weeks after I got to begin eating (in mid-August).  But you should be past that now and enjoying your food.  Definitely need to call your surgeon.  I'm so sorry you're feeling this way.  Let us know what the surgeon says.

A stricture came to mind as well. I had one. I thought it was me for the longest time. Does it feel as if the food is sitting in the middle of your chest? Like stuck there? I experienced continual heaving and throwing up for hours on end, but then I guess I am just one of those that when I get sick I stay that way till I empty everything completely it seems. Even when empty I still heave and all. When I had an episode one night, the next day I couldn't even keep liquids down. That is when I was convinced it wasn't something I was doing and got help. I had it stretched and have been on Nexium for almost three months now and haven't had an episode for a long time, thankfully. Call the doc and get in for an endoscopy. No reason to suffer needlessly. That's my guess on what it may be.  Lisa

Oh man Darcie, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems.

I can't remember exactly when it was after my surgery, but I went through this phase where everything I ate made me throw up.  I mean everything...even stuff like sugar free pudding & cottage cheese made me get sick.   I think I was at week 4 or 5 when that was happening.  I WAS able to keep down liquids, so I wasn't totally freaked out about not being able to keep anything down...at least I knew I was getting fluids (including protein shakes.)  I would definitely call your Dr. if you can't even keep liquids down.  You're going to get dehydrated if they don't figure out something soon.

Had you had the Taco Bell refried beans before?  I am wondering if for that particular incident it didn't have something to do with the amount of grease/fat in the refried beans.  I know I only ate the fat-free vegetarian kind when I got to that phase.

I hope you're feeling better soon and that they figure out what's going on!  ((hugs))

Thanks Amy, I can keep liquid down fine, its the temperatures that are bothering me for some reason. Yes I have had taco bell refried beans many times before this and they went down fine before. What you described is what I feel like.. Everything is making me sick and I might just have to go back to the basics stage one diet (yuck) ... Im calling Dr. Mann tommorro to see what he thinks.. thanks for the nice posts everyone!!!

Someone else said stricture which is what first came to mind for me. What you are describing is basicly what my Dr. told me to look out for.

Sending you good vibes and prayers that this doesn't last long hun.  {{Hugs}}
