Hey Ellen, Well, I can certainly testify to the fact that they are removeable.  Mine was removed and I have had no problems.  Love, Diane

the surgeon won't make my pouch small enough, or he won't bypass enough intestine. I just wanted to comment on this.... pouch size and how much intestines bypassed isnt what makes one lose as much weight as possible or keep it up... its up to you to do that. Sometimes the smallest pouch, most bypassed isnt the best... its all about changing your life!!! Its normal to second guess yourself but I know when I went DrMelkonian I KNEW immediately he was the right surgeon for me... as for making the decision to have surgery, of course I second guessed that but never the surgeon or his skills!

Hi Laurie!  I have Dr. Pirrello who is partnered with Dr. Bauman in Concord.  I love Dr. P  and love the practice and office staff.  my experience has been that they are my partners in my health care and they have been great in making good recommendations and following thru.  I srongly recommend the practice.  I also adore Northeast Medical Center, where they do the surgeries.  Do your research, meet the docs, and make the decision that is right for you.

Hey Laurie, I absolutely would NOT recommend Dr. Baumon in Concord to anyone. I had the worst experience at that clinic. It is a complete mess and joke. The staff is unorganized and rude at times. Eventually, I ditched the Concord clinic and started going to the Carolina Surgical Clinic in Charlotte. The staff and all of the surgeons are great. I know 3 other people personally that have used this clinic and have had wondeful results and no complaints. 2 have used Dr. Melkonian for gastric bypass and the other Dr. Lowe for a lapband.  I hope this information was helpful for you.  Bethany

Hi again Laurie!  Bethany's comments prove one big thing, we are each different, and what works for one person does not work for another.  I had an experience with another office that totally turned me off from them and toward Drs. Bauman and Pirrello.  But I've heard great things about that other office from other folks.  So . . .do your research, and trust your heart.  Realize that we all have opinions based on our backgrounds and personalities, so get the input of others, but temper it with your judgement.  Good luck!
