I need some information on VITAMINS - what is one that isn't huge sized and has all the Vitamin A,D,E,K that we need?? Lactose intolerence now, potty frequently, and NO ENeRgY, Anemic This is my 1st posting in a LONG LONG time. After having multiple revisions to a nissen wrap for acid reflux. Now after all of these operations I now have NO STOMACH at all. I was hospitalized in April, May, June and lastly July of '07. Total Gastrectomy with malabsorbtion from the shorten intestines - when I eat now, it goes straight from my espohagus to my intestines. Then I get to go potty pretty soon thereafter (if ya know what I mean) - I'm also in need of a new surgeon, because mine moved in September. :-(      I've still be in such pain from the surgery- I have absolutely NO energy, I'm anemic and don't know which way to go from here..  Its required that I eat every 90 minutes or so just to try to get protein & nutrition. my weight has only changed by 19 pounds because I do eat so often, (including carbs) - suggestions are welcome here... Looks like I'd be a pro at this by now, but I'm needing

I am so so sorry for all the problems!  I would definately stick with chewable vitamins since you are having malabsorption problem.  Try Usana chewables or Centrum Silver chewables.  If need be take Flinstones chewables 3 times a day.  God Bless. Diane

The one my doc/NUT recommends is Optisource Post Bariatric Surgery Formula and it is available at Walgreen's.  It's pretty complete.  I chew 2 in AM and 2 in PM.  Pleasant orange flavor.  I paid about $26 a bottle for them at the store, but they can be ordered online if you don't have a Walgreen's nearby.  I like these because I don't have to take anything else along with it.  I get plenty of Vit E, B6, B12, K and Iron with this. Read about it here and check out the great reviews: http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=301120&id=p rod403359&skuid=sku403360 OptiSource Chewable Vitamin and Mineral Supplement Post Bariatric Surgery Formula Citrus, Tablets

I take the Optisource also.  4 a day.  So far I really like them.  I haven't had my levels taken yet (I'm just short of 1 month out), but I feel pretty good.  They're easy to eat.

They have excellent vitamins for post-op bariatric surgery. They have recently upgraded the formula. The chewables taste pretty good.

The chewables are generally more absorbable than a capsule or tablet. B
