Old Habits Die Hard
Now.. for years.. and I mean YEARS.. I have longed to shop in the regular size section of any clothing store. I have browsed while women looked at me like "Hey! Fat Girl.. the Plus section is in the back.." Now. someone please explain to me WHY ON EARTH I am stopping by the plus section to look for pants before I realize that I no longer wear plus sizes.. LOL Weird.
I don't know, but I do it too. Today I was looking for a new coat ... thinking it might finally get cold soon. At any rate, I walked past LB and Catherine's and longed to go in even though I knew that the don't carry misses sizes. I guess we just get comfortable with something and it's hard to make the changes.
One of the things that I noticed is that it's a little harder for me to find good "camoflage" clothes in the regular department ... I mean the stuff that hides the little spare tire I carry around with me now.
It's nice to "have" to shop in the regular size sections though.
Enjoy shopping in the misses department!

I TOTALLY hear you on the "fat girl in the skinny dept" thing...even going into Gap to buy things for my son, I feel uncomfortable. Like they're staring at me thinking "what the?? you can't fit anything here!" I am (well, used to be) addicted to clothes shopping...I can't wait to be able to wear whatever I want again. Ahhh, that will be awesome!! Congrats on getting so small!! heehee You're looking soooo good!

It'll suit my happy A$$ just fine if I NEVER grace the doors of Lane Bryant ever again! Or any plus size, women's world, whatever you want to call them departments. I get such a huge thrill from deleting myself from their email lists and chunking the catalogs in the trash before I even peek inside at all the normal size women wearing moo-moos.
I swear I should be a plus size designer. Crappy old matronly looking mess. Hey...big girls curves can be sexy too you know. Or at least in style for this decade.
Me? Miss the plus size pushers? I think not!!!
:::whew:::that felt almost too good!
