OT: Looking into relocating

Hello! I was looking for some guidance on this matter. I currently live in Orlando, FL and we are interested in moving to NC. I have family in both Asheville and Hickory. I am beginning to research areas that would be good for us and thought some of you may be able to help. My first thought is near the Charlotte area. We are a married couple of 7 years. I just turned 31 and my husband is 32. We have one son who will be 4 in 2 weeks. I would be interested in a nice neighborhood setting with newer homes, with young families and very good schools. Ideally we would be close to activities, restaurants, shopping too. Point me in the right direction!

Hi and welcome!  Can I suggest Fort Mill, SC?  That's where we live with my niece, nephew-in-law and their five kids.  The schools are excellent (I have been told they are in the top ten school districts in the country, and folks take their kids out of private Charlotte schools so they can attend the Fort Mill schools.)  We have a lot of nice neighborhoods in varying price ranges.  I work in Charlotte and my commute is about 15 minutes.  It's a great place.  And our property taxes have gone down several years in a row.  There are several nice places around Charlotte, it depends on what you are looking for.  Happy hunting!

just outside of Charlotte is also Belmont and Mt. Holly area.  very nice areas that are really growing.  Alot smaller of course than Charlotte.  Still very close to Charlotte so you can easily find employment there if needed.  Just like Robin said...really depends on what you are looking for.   Good Luck- Connie

Well with NC being the greatest state in the nation, it would be hard to go wrong anywhere... from our beautiful mountains all the way to our beautiful coast.  Guess I'm a little bit prejudiced though!
