I am so frustrated with Dr.Baumans office staff. Ughhhhhh I had my first appointment with them on Oct. 9th. At that time all of my task required of me to have surgery were done and completed. I followed up myself to make sure they received everything they needed  AND my blood work had to be faxed twice. Today is the 31st and they STILL have not submitted my file to BCBS.

I tried the tactic of telling them I was going to stop by to pick up my paperwork and submit it myself. I have left messages and emails and still no response. When they do respond they are sooooooo vague I don’t get my question answered. I am so frustrated.

They had us pay our fee's up front and feel they drag their feet getting stuff done. I realize I am not their only patient and how busy they are. They need to hire more people if they can't get their work done. Their website specifically states, if your task are completed by your appointment they can submit to insurance right away.

I am tired of their voicemail stating they have 3 days to get back to you and they never do. They tell you to check their website but they don't keep it current.

Just needed to vent.

Made it to ONDERLAND!!!!!!!

Vent away girl!   I'm sorry you're having a hard time with them but keep calling and make some noise... be a squeeky wheel if neccesary!  I'd  point out to them that they do not call back when you leave messages.   Anyway, good luck and keep your head up, you will get you day!  I know it's frustrating!!!!!  We've all been there!  Keep us posted!

I'd go sit in the waiting room until you got results. They will probably move a little faster while you're sitting there explaining the problem to all the other patients there.

That's inexcusable and unprofessional (imho).

Vent away! I started out with Dr. Bauman and switched to Dr. Farrell for that very reason.  That one blonde office manager was rude to me one too many times.  So I never went back.  And BOY am I glad I didn't!  Dr. Farrell's office has treated me with dignity and respect each and every step of the way.  These doctor's are making about $50,000 for a 3 hr. surgery.  A little kindness and respect goes a very long ways in my book! Hugs, Diane

Not that this makes a difference but most bariatric surgerons make less then $3000 for a surgery. It's based on the contracts and bariatrics is the lowest paid surgeons out there right now. :) It's sad but true....they make so many of have better lives! As for venting....that I think is what we are here for. I would say go to the office manager that is who is suppose to run the office and keep everyone on their toes. If she hasn't returned your calls have you tried to email her directly? Or email anyone in the office? For sure going to the office always is an option..... Good Luck.....I hope you get somewhere soon!!!!!!

You know something, you are absolutely right.  I stand corrected.  I was thinking of the total bills paid out by my insurance, whi*****ludes surgeon, anesthesiologist, hospital bill, vascular surgery for the filter, etc etc.  My bad...  Another senior moment.... Love, Diane

I think its a good idea to give doctors feedback about their office staff.  I would email him if I could find an address, if not ask for a phone call.  He's lost one patient, probably more because of their procrastination, he should know.  The above post that talks about telling them they never call back when you call next time is a good thing too.  It's been my experience that when I sound mad, I get better results from health care providers that are putting me off because they think I'll be a push over. It is interesting to think about the fact that those that are most likely getting better service are the ones that the staff is afraid of hearing from again.  They're most likely the ones that have already made a little bit of a scene.  It's up to you how to proceed, but as was already said, the squeaky wheel gets oiled first... Take care and good luck. Ellen

I would try speaking to the office manager... if you still dont get anywhere go down to the office itself. I would also definately let DrB know what is going on.

I feel for you, I had the same problem with the Bariatric Coordinator, she would LIE LIE LIE and told me that the office manager had picked up my files and then when I got to my pre op the office manager asked me what in the world was I talking about that she NEVER picked up anything. I jumped up and down and the office manager had the coordinator get off her lazy ass and the stuff was faxed ASAP. The coordinator had some stupid lame excuse oh yes... *the fax machine at the office is having server issues* ya nice try! The office manager is who you need to talk with, dont let them push you to the side, keep on them till the paperwork is submitted.

Forget the office manager, go directly to dr pirello, he's got a direct email on the website. I'm sure you'll move faster through him .
