Great post and responses. I'm going to change my ticker and add all the lost lbs. I wasn't counting from the surgery date but all along in the back of my head thought I was cheating myself out of some lost lbs.

Thanks Barb and all those *****sponded.

hey Barb, I use what the doctor uses which is my presurgical weight, not my all time high.  It's too much for me to keep up with 2 weights, with all I have going on.  I stay on track with Dr. Farrell.  I hope this was helpful. Diane

For my ticker I use the weight I was at my 2 week pre-op.... when people ask how much Ive lost I state what I lost since surgery as well as what Ive lost since my highest. I walked in the surgeons office at 288lbs and wasnt sure if I would get approved so I started losing weight... I say every pound counts!

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011

BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014

Scar revision on arms - 3/2015

HALO laser on arms/neck 9/2016

Thigh Lift 10/2020

Thigh Lift revision 10/2021

I use the weight I was the day before my surgery.  I did reach an all-time high of 275 at one point, but am trying to block that from my memory.  I chose to use the weight right before my surgery so that I would know how much weight I lost after the surgery.

Thanks so much Suzanne.  You are such a sweetheart.    I've missed you too!  I've missed everyone...I only wish there were more hours in the day and more of me to do everything I need to get done!  Not to mention the fact that I want to sleep all of the time.  I can't wait for this phase to go away! Thanks so much.  You're looking smokin' hot!  Keep up the great work!

You know, I've wondered about this too.... Because, in May 2006, when I went to my endocrinologist, I had hit my highest point of 375. When I went in this past May, I was down to 325. But I don't know if it's fair to count that loss, because, honestly, I lost it from horrible diabetes. I couldn't keep it in control, and my weight dropped. I'm thinking of using 325 as my starter weight. I was 324.8 when I went to meet the NUT, basically the time that I started the journey. But I don't know.... anyone else have any suggestions/opinions for my situation?
Highest ('06): 375 Pre-Surgery: 322 Current (11/5): 215 Goal: 150?

First of all ... Hello! I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting you before, so welcome to the NC forum!

Second ... I decided that I should use a weight that had meaning to me. I decided to track my high weight because I did have to work to get that weight off and I don't ever want to see it again! I also track the weight I was when I actually started the ball rolling to start this journey. Then, of course, my surgery weight is important to me. My current weight is in a stall right now, but hopefully it will move again soon. I'm not sure about the goal weight. My goal weight right now is the one that my Dr. considers to be my "ideal" weight. I don't know if I'll ever get there, but we'll see.

So.... track the weight(s) that have a meaning to you. I don't reallyl think that there is a "right" or "wrong" way to do this.
