Which high weight do you use?

I was using the weight I was when I started this journey of 253, but my all-time high was 264 ... so I've actually lost 11 lbs more. What do you use when you are calculating your weight loss. I'm seriously considering using my all time high because it would be the total amount of weight I've lost, even though I had lost it before I started this journey.

I look forward to your input.

i used my highest weight, which was what I had been at for a few months before deciding to have this surgery.  Hey, the more pounds lost, the better, right? alice

I use the weight I was when I first walked into my surgeon's office on April 24th, which happens to be my all time high.  :)  It was depressing and sobering to step onto those scales that day.

I use my all time high of 425 for my ticker and for non-wls people.  On this board, I'll sometimes qualify that I've lost 200 pounds, 75 prior to surgery, 125 postoperatively.  I did lose all that weight, and the 75 was in the year prior to surgery, so I'm claiming it for the most part. I hope that wasn't too confusing.  I will say, when I reach goal and I'm not so much in "process" anymore, I will just use the total loss.  Own it, it's yours! Take care. Ellen

I decided ... especially after some of your comments sort of confirmed my thinking that I did lose those pounds and I don't want them back, so I'm going to count them in my overall loss. I'm still displaying my weight when I actually started this journey as well as my surgical weight so people will hopefully be able to tell that the loss wasn't all surgical ... but as Ellen said, I lost it and should own it. So now, I do. Thanks Ellen!

I appreciate everyone's input!

I used my all time high, which was right before WLS anyway, you lost the weight before WLS so you could have the WLS right?  Doing great girl!

Barb,          I use my all-time high because I think it's still weight that you've lost. Even if it is before your weight loss journey, it's still something to be proud of and acknowledge. :) Shelly
