New to board/have surgery date

Hi to all, My name is Nancy and I am from Hickory. I have my surgery date and it is November 20th. I go on 11-2 to visit with my surgeon (Dr. DeMaria) and the on 11-12 will have my pre-op visit. I know that we have a weight loss surgeon in Hickory but they turned me down because of my age in 2005 (I was 66) , surgeries that I had had and medical conditions. I have an excessively large hiatal hernia and went to Duke for a 3nd opinion on surgery and after seeing their gastro dr. he sent me to Dr. Pryor *****commended the surgery. I went to the informational seminar the next Friday , turned in my application shortly thereafter and I was on my way. It has been an exciting journey and I am so excited that it is almost finished. Any tips or helps for here until the 11-20 would be greatly appreciated. I have been reading a lost of post on the various boards and love the way everyone is so friendly and supportive. Hi Barb, It seems like I already know you because I have been reading a lot of the post you have already made. Thank you for you warm welcome and I would appreciate any and all the help you can give me before surgery right now and I'm sure after surgery.

Nancy, My surgery is on Nov. 28, but my surgeon visit with Dr. Demaria and my pre-op are on the same days as yours. Maybe we will see each other there. Congrats on getting your date!
