I'm back.....
Hello everyone. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I had my own personal nurse, my wonderful daughter Marenda, taking care of me while I was in the hospital. She use to work at PCMH as a Nursing Asst while in college so she know just what to do. My DH was there some too but because of his back, I wouldn't let him stay up there too much. He has 2 herniated discs and had to have a myelogram done this morining.
My stay in the hospital was really good. I had great nurses, nursing assistants, etc. The docs are so wonderful. The worst pain I had of course was the gas and that was made worse when my sleepy bladder didn't want to wake up. But when it did, wow, it worked and worked. That helped a lot with the pain since there is just so much room in there. My whole tummy is black and blue from brusing. The nurses were a bit alarmed when they saw how bruised I was on Sat afternnon/evening. They called the surgical resident up to see me. She said not to worry about it, some people just bruise easier than others. They did run some extra blood tests to make sure everything was OK.
I got home about 1:00 yesterday and it didn't take long to get a nap. It sure did feel great to lay in my own bed last night.
. Well, I guess that's about it. The Optisource stuff leaves a lot to be desired but at least I only have to drink 2 ounces at a time. Any suggestions? I'm not sure what other docs use for the 1st phase after surgery.
Take are and thanks again for the prayers! Alice

Hi Alice -
Glad to have you back. You are so very lucky to have had such loving care from your dear daughter. I know from my experience taking care of my mother, that there isn't anywhere else she would have been.
I looked like I'd been beaten with a bat or been in a bad car accident after my surgery, but it all cleared up.
Get some rest, walk, sip, sip, and sip some more.
Welcome to the loser's bench.
