Abdominal and mid-back pain
I am 6 months out and have had my appendix removed. I have lots of pain in my lower abdominal area and back pain in my mid back. I have been to the Dr and had 2 CT scans and blood work and urine test. Waiting on urine tset results. I guess I just need to know if this is normal or what and if it will ever go away.

Teresa,
I'm sorry you're having pain! I am 5 years out and have had pain in my upper abdomin and back for the past year, pretty bad this past month. I thought maybe it was gall bladder but I've had tests run and they come back fine. I have another appointment with my doctor on Tuesday so hopefully we'll figure out what it is. For me when I have lower abdominal pain I know it's gas and it can hurt bad, but mine is right below my ribs and right side. I hope you can get some relief!!
Good luck!!!

I had gallbladder removed long before the WLS. This is from Hip bone to hip bone and down as far as the abdominal pain. I had appendix removed in Sept and alot of scar tissue from the histrectomy a few years ago was also removed. The first 4 months were great after WLS. I feel better except for this pain and it is not all the time. I know my Dr will figure it out in time.

Have you been to a chiropractor? I have seen people post that as we lose weight, our balance and skeletal structure can change. Also, my sis explained to me some time ago that the nerves for our stomachs are somehow connected such that there is referred pain to behind the left breast when we have gas in the stomach. So maybe this is referred pain, too? Good luck!
That's true, he does rock. His concern for me when I had the strangulated hernia was wonderful. And then when I fainted after Weigh****chers, he made me promise to see my PCP immediately. But I wanted to mention the chiropractic in case that turned out to be the issue. Often we don't think about how losing weight impacts our center of balance. From what you describe, it could be sciatic in nature. So if Jon doesn't come up with anything conclusive, you may want to ask his opinion on structural issues.
Good luck!
