Great discussion w/Dietician re: Calcium and Vit D

As many of you know I posted a link earlier this week to a discussion about crumbling teeth and it's possible association with lack of vitamin supplement intake.

I check back on that nutrition board this morning and came across an excellent, thoughtful, and detailed discussion of this issue with a registered dietician. While the previous post has made me more vigilent than ever about taking my supplements, this post also makes me certain that I will follow the guidelines set by my program and I will not over supplement.

From personal experience, I know that over supplementation can have very dangerous consequences ...

Thanks for posting this follow up... I think its GREAT that there are RDs out there to answer these questions... people get all worked up over what people say should/shouldnt be done instead of doing research and finding out the truth.  *chewing my calcium as I type!!

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)
