Out of the hospital AGAIN....

Well, just as soon as I wrote the email, the very next day I was back in the hospital.  I just got home.  I wanted to give you all an update.   I have not even had time to give Barb (my angel) an update.   Well, the fever and then the really bad pain is what took me in.    I went in Sunday morning.   They ran a thousand tests.  Fortunately, the fever went away.   But, the pain has been consistent.   Good news, was that there were no leaks and nothing of major importance on the CT scan.   My labs came back great except for my Lipase (which deals with the pancreas) They were double than normal.    They said that probably what was happening is that they probably irritated my pancreas when they were moving my insides around.   Which caused it to get irritated and for that test to go up.    I was off of food until last night.   I got sick off the boost, which I didn't on Friday.   Who knows?   Anyway, I am sore, but, the tests were coming down so, it looked like it was good for me to come home today.  YEA!! I feel very weak with being without food for a couple of days (the little we have anyway) and all the diarrhea .    So, I am home and thankful to be back in my bed.     As for my hubby...you all were right, he was so sorry for how he was being and he said he was a little overwhelmed and tired.   I totally understood.   He has been great.    Just wanted to thank you all for letting me vent.   Glad to be on the losing side everyone!!! Caroline -

OMGoodness! I'm sooo sorry to hear that you are having such a rough start. I'm glad that they re-admitted you and were able to check to be sure all is well. I know that you must be sooo glad to be back home ... And I know that your family is glad to have you back home as well.

Please do let me know if there is anything at all I can do to help. I don't live too far away and would be glad to lend a hand.

When I told my husband about what happened on the way home the first time, he told me that since it was uncharacteristic of your husband, that he would bet that it had to do with worry and stress. Glad to know that it's going better.

Take care dear and please just call if you need/want anything at all.

All the best,

Barb

YIKES!  I'm glad to hear you're all better from this Caroline... sounds scary to me 2 days before surgery!  Hope you continue to improve and usually getting in our own beds helps with that bunches.

Welcome home again, Caroline! I saw your post headline and thought:  OMG!  This sounds like one of MY early post-op posts!  So glad there is no cause for alarm and that both your pancreas and your hubby are calming down. Keep us posted!

Caroline,

Scary to be back in the hospital so soon, but glad to hear that you're back in your own bed.  I'm sure your energy will come back quickly, now that you're able to "eat" again.   Let's enjoy our time on the loser's bench!!!
