Monday Morning Recharge Ladies

Tomorrow is Monday morning.  I would like to challenge each and every one of us to see it as a new beginning.  The start of a new week with the weather cooling will give us a renewed spirit of determination against our battle with obesity.  Plan to get up early to walk, jog, exercise, go to the gym... whatever it is you do to move.  Get the blood pumping ladies, and yes, that includes me!  We are masters at self sabotage; beating ourselves up and waving the white flag of failure when we are actually winning this battle! Why?  Because that little voice of failure sits on our shoulders and tells us in our own voice:  "I'm going to fail!   This is not going to work for me.  I'm fat, always will be!  I'm going to fail while everyone else finds success!"  It is the voice of the enemy folks.  Please don't buy into it, don't listen.  For us Christians, we know it is the voice of Satan, rebuke him in the name of Jesus!  Instead of beating ourselves up, give yourself a swift boot out the door to exercise!  Drink or eat that protein.  Take your vitamins and laugh, yes, laugh in the face of failure! Love yall! Diane

BTW did I tell you we had a church picnic Saturday?  And yes, I gained 2 lbs this weekend!  It was a wonderful fun filled, spirit filled time with my church family.  The food was great the weather was fantastic and I will not give in to self sabotage.  I'll just work off these 2 lbs and pray we don't have another picnic for a while!  And yes, I tasted Sharon Carter's turtle cake, and Georgia's famous taco casserole.  God did not put us on this journey to rebuke food, but to learn to deal with it better.  We are all being tested here.  Let us not declare failure in the face of success.  JMHO Diane

Great post Diane!  I usually get really depressed on Sunday evenings thinking about all the things I wanted to get done over the weekend that didn't get done... Today I had a great day, great Church service, then visiting with family and now relaxing and watching some TV (Desperate Housewives/Brothers & Sisters) with hubby.  I only have 4 days before my surgery; this time next week I should be home being cared for by my darling husband and sweet daughter.  It's going to be a great week, even if I do have exist another 4 days on OptiFast

Good morning and I am so glad you enjoyed the post!  Now you are 3 days from surgery... wow... I remember that excitement.  You've come a long ways to this point and it is very life changing.  Some old habits will die hard, others will be a welcomed change that happens naturally.  Fluids are so very important, protein and exercise.  We will all be here praying and cheering you on to victory.  Always remember to stay focused and Keep Your Eyes On the Prize!  Thank you kindly for all the love and support you give all of us, all the time.  It is most appreciated. Love, Diane

Thank you for a truly inspiring post, Diane!  Boy, do I ever recognize that little voice!  And I SO agree that we should not live in fear of food.  I have also TASTED "forbidden" foods and in doing so realized that they had no power over me.  If I am too afraid to even taste them, then I am giving them dominion over me and I don't want to live like that any more.  Thank you again for an inspirational post.  You reminded me that I am in the PROCESS of successful weight loss, that it is NOT an event!  I have the day off and have it full of physical activity!

Diane, Great post! Great way to start the new week too! That eveil little voice tries to win and occassionally creates a speed bump in this road of WLS, but God gives us the ability/faith and grace to win out over that devil. I can't help but to wonder if the cooler temperatures and shorter days are making some of us want to "nest" or ****oon into our homes, decreasing our exercise and possibly increasing our food intake ( particularly carbs)???? This is the most common time of year for Seasonal Affective Disorder to show up- thus it is very important to get outside, feel the warm of the sunshine and MOVE TO LOSE!!!! The possible awareness of this disorder sure makes it so much easier to combat. I know the shorter days just make me want to crawl in bed as soon as it gets dark at night- good time to do some crunches or squats- something to move that blood. Thanks so much for a positive, thought provoking post! Happy Monday everyone! Sheila

I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....
