You just made my mouth go into overdrive talking about the brownies and the frosting... you see I dont care about food at all.. BUT if its sweets or candy then get out of the way.. LOL thats where I have blown it big time in the past. I LOVE SUGAR and right now with all the Halloween candy thrown in my face everywhere I go its very hard. Thank you for a wonderful post!!

Lisa -

First of all, thanks for your unfailing support. I appreciate it more than you know.

Secondly, remember that you are doing a wonderful job. I know that some of us don't lose as fast as others, but we just need to keep plugging along. When I had my 3 month check up they told me that my weight loss is "adequate" ... I'm not moving at lightening speed by any stretch of the imagination.

Thanks again for your support and feel free to PM or call me anytime.

Your friend,

Barb

Vent any ole time Barb..   Just climb back up in that saddle.  We are all teetering right now I do believe.  I have to face that I am a food addict.  I will have to keep that thought forefront in my mind for my whole life.  I think we all had issues with food or none of us would have gotten to where we were pre-op.  Keep your eyes on the prize girl!  I will keep you close in prayer.  :)

Thanks Jenn -

It really does help to be able to vent my fears and frustrations in a "safe" environment.

I'm sitting in the saddle again, with my eye on the prize.

Thanks again,

Barb

Thanks Myrtis -

I appreciate your support. I'm not really beating myself up over it ... it just scares me. I guess a little fear is a good thing.

I think a lot of us are struggling.  It will be that way the rest of our lives, to some extent.  I, like one of the above posts, am a food addict.  I will always be one.  Live, and eat, day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute.  You can do this, so can I.  As you said in one of your posts to me on this same subject, be kind to yourself.  What would you say to me if the roles were reversed?  We all slip, we have the choice to get back up or stay down.  You're a strong woman, you'll get back up. Take care. Ellen

Own it all, it's yours!

Barb-  I am so glad that you do come here and vent the trials of life after WLS- its the reality we all live with.... After reading everyone's post- I keep coming back to the one thing that seems to work consistently for me (9 out of 10 times). When temptation strikes- I repeat ( often! lol), that "I deserve to be fit and healthy- not fat and unhappy! The food that is tempting me will not bring the fit and healthy, it is not my friend, it is not something to put into my body."....I KNOW that my body likes all the new choices, feels good and energized and the crappy food choices will make me just that- feel crappy! I think it is important for all of us to give our self's permission to be successful with WLS, to achieve the level of fitness and health WE ALL DESERVE! Some days, I repeat my mantra all too often- but you know what? I , now, believe my mantra! Love you guys and all the wonderful insight and support! Sheila

I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....

((((Barb)))) You are not teetering on the edge of failure, dear.  You are teetering on the edge of success, and it scares you!  Of all the people here, I believe you are the one I admire most because of: 1.  The love and support you give us all without the bat of an eye. 2.  Your ability to bounce back from obstacles. 3.  The insight and knowlege you share on all levels of weight loss (like this). 4.  Your honesty and dedication to the process. 5.  Your candid expressions of emotions we all face and have to deal with! 5.  oh yes and let's not forget how slim you are already... have you looked in the mirror? Do you see what the rest of the world sees?  Barb, you are doing fantastic.  I am proud to have you as a friend.  Hang in there.... KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE! Love ya big bunches, Your friend, Diane
